Baha'i Youth Year of Service Program
Who is eligible?
High School graduates between 18 and 25 years old.
What is the time frame?
Normally service will begin in September and continue through July/early August of the following year. Service would culminate with Pre-youth summer camps.
What will a YYS Volunteer do?
Participate in a number of the following training programs and activities:
- Youth Empowerment Training - a CORE Curriculum based program for youth presented in a weekly study circle format
- Evenings of stories with on-site residents and other visiting Bahá’ís who share their wealth of experience and knowledge
- Training as Core Curriculum Children’s class teachers
- Teach local weekly children’s classes, assist with children’s classes at conferences and other sessions, and prepare for the two pre-youth summer camps
- RUHI training
- Opportunities may be arranged to study and create art: painting, sculpture, pottery, music, writing, drama, etc.
- Deepening on specific books
- Daily devotions
- Staff meetings/YYS meetings
- Night off campus for socializing
- Teaching projects
