Desert
Rose Publishing, a division of Desert Rose Bahá'í Institute, Inc., is
pleased to announce the publication of a new booklet titled "Religion
and Universal Peace". The booklet was originally a talk given by Mr.
William Barnes to several hundred people gathered in Tucson, Arizona,
to commemorate the events of September 11. The audience included
followers of all the world's major faiths, both clergy and lay people.
In
the booklet, Mr. Barnes clearly sets forth the premise that to achieve
peace, humanity must achieve a consciousness of the oneness of the
human race. This will be manifest when humanity unites both inwardly
and outwardly, spiritually and socially. Spiritual unity depends upon
unifying the religions. They will not unify so long as they set
themselves up as opposing models of faith. The religions will unite
only by perceiving themselves as different expressions of the Will of a
common Creator. Social unity will occur when all people become enfolded
within one system of agreed upon global institutions. The world-wide
Bahá'í community is a model both of how to unite the religions and of
how an interconnected and global social structure can be established.
Desert
Rose Publishing feels that the timeliness of the theme would appeal to
a wider audience than just those gathered in Tucson. This booklet can
be shared with friends, offered to clergy or other representatives of
religious organizations, disseminated for discussion among members of
interfaith associations, given to comparative religion classes, or used
simply for personal enjoyment and understanding.
The booklet of 14 pages is $2.00 for a single copy. Add 50 cents for postage.
Orders of 25 or more will be given a 20% discount.

A
great goal of Desert Rose Bahá'í Institute had been achieved with the
establishment of Desert Rose Publishing in November 2003. The first
publication of this new arm of the Institute was the biography of Hand
of the Cause of God William Sears, written by his wife, Marguerite.
It
is a first-hand account of their life together. Easy to read and very
down to earth, the book portrays the life of one of the most eminent
Bahá'ís in the western world. His passion for service, his vast
creative output, his travels and exhaustive work for the faith, often
accomplished under pain and illness, his laughter and humor, are all
found in these pages and stand witness to his noble life.
